My blogging friend Kati came up with a real good topic that made me think. You can see her original topic here its about buying a WHOLE series just to have the whole collection. Even when you didn’t particularly care for one book or another you still end up buying the WHOLE series. One author I have that I have never read is Kelley Armstrong and yet I own every single one of her Otherworld books in paperback. Why? b/c I had to have the whole series before I started reading them.

And here I thought I was finally getting over that.

As you may recall I recently moved and in order to do that I had to cull the books (my friends refused to move 15 boxes of books again. I either had to clean out the shelves or they weren’t moving them.) Anyway I managed to do it (it was hard, very hard) so how did I do that you ask? Well I culled out series I don’t read anymore or better the books in the series that I just didn’t care for.

For example I had EVERY SINGLE Carpthian novel ever written by Christine Feehan EVERY ONE. And yet the only ones I enjoyed were far and few in between. So I picked the ones I loved and the ones I haven’t read and donated the rest back to the library annual book sale. I did the same with the Sookie books (although I did mainly so I could buy those in hardback) I’ve done it with my beloved Harry Dresdan series although I regret that decision. I wish I had those back b/c the series is so good (but wait I didn’t care for a few of the books. Crap!) See that’s the problem.

As I was thinking about this I realized that Kati was right I also do it with DVD’s OMG and those are way more expensive then books. HOLY CRAP I have like 1,000 dollars worth of TV shows just chillin’ out at home. And I will justify this b/c I don’t have cable or the digital box. So for me to buy the TV shows I feel like its okay. But let’s take a quick glance of the shows I own…

1. Stargate Atlantis: I own seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and plan to buy 5
2. Burn Notice: I own seasons 1 and 2 when 3 is released I will be buying it
3. Supernatural: I own seasons 1, 2, and 3 plan to buy 4 ASAP
4. Eureka: I only own season 3.0 but season 1 and 2 are on the must buy when I have extra money list
5. How I Met Your Mother: I own season 1, 2, and 3 I will probably get 4 for Christmas this is a gift tradition for my mom
6. I will buy all 10 seasons of Stargate (yes I’m addicted and I’m only on season 3 but I MUST HAVE all 10)
7. Fireflies (but it was only one season)
8. Pushing Daisies: I own both seasons
9. NCIS: I’ve seen every season but the latest one and I own season 5 so I will be collecting the previous seasons as well
10. Criminal Minds I own season 1 and 2 but I personally think season 3 was the best so I will be buying that as well as season 4

You tell me do I have a problem with buying serialitis? Yeah I think so…

Its Monday

yet again and yours truly worked yesterday YUCK...

Listening to: Love it'll knock when comes around it'll knock ya down (have no idea who sings it other than Ne-Yo is the boy)

Movie: I watched He's just not that Into you this weekend. It was cute but reminded me of why I don't enjoy dating LOL. that and why I got divorced so really not a winner but at the same time not a complete disappointment. I did pick up some tips *wink*

TV: Stargate SG-1 season 3 is what I am currently tearing through as fast as Netflix can bring it. LOVE THAT SHOW I'm going to ask for the seasons for Christmas (cross your fingers for me)

Alright the fun part. I managed to read 3 books this week YEAH!
The first was a re-read The Unblessed King by Michelle Pillow followed closely by The Farey Queen by Michelle Pillow which then was followed by The Stone Queen by Michelle Pillow. All three very good and all 3 became keepers (although one was already a keeper but a re-read I plan to read again...)

Um in other news I managed to sit down and write a little before I was called in so that's a bonus. It has been hard getting back into writing but I am making myself write a little bit everyday.

What I must have

Anywho the topic is Things a girl should have in her house at all times... well I'm going to switch it up and list 20 things I have in my house at ALL TIMES or I get very, very upset.

1. shoes and I don't mean just the pairs I already have. I need a new pair every few months or its nasty.
2. I'll be the first admit that a new DVD goes a long way in my house (I don't have cable or the digital box) so for me to get a new DVD every 2 weeks is a must have.
3. Books. New ones, old ones, study guides, work books, re-reads, TBR whatever I must have books in the house at all times.
4. Rock Band and Guitar Hero. They are a must in my house I play a song every night at least once to destress
5. Water (bottled only or a pitcher of water) I am slowly growing to enjoy drinking it so I must have some available.
6. On the drinking note I have to have tea in the house and not the pre-packaged kind I want the actual fresh stuff.
7. Salsa and Chips they are my favorite snack and I love them
8. I gave up soda but I still let myself have one every week. Usually its when I'm out and about or if I save it up one after the pool. Needless to say it must be somewhere in the house.
9. A nice quilt. My mom makes them and I have to have them while watching TV I wrap up in them and relax.
10. My labtop must be with me in the house at all times. This was a little more important when I had internet but I still like to play games on it and stuff.
11. Pillows I love them can't live without them and must have them all the time.
12. Iron and Ironing board yeah I tend to just put my clean clothes in a basket and forget to put them away so Ironing is something I have to do regularly. Sad but true.
13. Pens I have to have them. You would be amazed at how often I am writing crap down. Either for a story, or for shopping, or just doodling I have to have pens.
14. Fruit is a must have for me in the house. If I don't have it I will snack on other things not so good for me.
15. Female products 'nuff said
16. Makeup and mainly for my eyes. I think my eyes are my best feature so I must have makeup that compliments them.
17. A great pair of jeans. You know the kind you can throw on and instantly feel better about how you look and feel. OMG I have 3 pairs that I love and are worth the price.
18. Music. From the moment I walk into the apartment I usually have tunes going until I fall asleep. I listen to music while I work out, write, cook, eat and even while I relax. Without my ipod or lab top I would go insane.
19. My baggy sweatshirt. Before my father passed away I bought him my college sweatshirt in extra extra large so he would actually wear it. After he passed it was the only thing I would wear for a long time. Now whenever I put it on I feel instant comfort.
20. My cats and only my cats. Without them my house would be very lonely indeed!

Where in the World is Sarai?

Whoops so sorry folks Sarai got a mini vaca on Friday so she wasn't available to take request or chat. And since she doesn't have internet at home now she hasn't been able to update regularly like she wants too!

However, I shall try to do her justice by catching you up!

Sarai has had major car troubles like $450.00 dollars worth of car trouble. She managed to catch it before it turned into $1,000 dollars worth but that's not making her feel any better. (Image is not an actual portrayal of what happened. Only b/c my cell phone isn't that old I mean.) What really happened was a knocking sound everytime I slowed down. That turned into a full blown rattle in the span of 2 blocks that turned into a barely able to steer the damn tank in the span of another 2 blocks. However, I managed to survive and didn't even crash.
Both front tire rods were rusty and in fact had rusted out. So I had to replace them but thankfully the brakes and tires will last until at least winter now according to the machanic.

Um... what else OH there are some HUGE changes at work, not allowed to discuss them yet but keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm hoping something good will come my way by next week. And speaking of work I'm on call all this weekend. Which doesn't seem huge except this is my favorite holiday so I'm really hoping I don't get called in. But at the same time hoping I do due to the whole car issue (see above)

What else, what else, I haven't been reading much due to the work, RL and other issues. I did manage to get some sun the other day so that's a bonus. Pool weather is great here! And for those of you actually interested in my writing I even managed to crank out a chapter on Curse rewrite which is going great as long as I can stay focused.

As far as my weight I managed to loose a total of 7lbs in 3 weeks and I'm still working on it! So very exciting. I really need to work on the eating more than the working out but enjoying the results (I haz muscles now!!!)

Decided to give up on dating right now. I really need to focus on work and getting myself back to number one before I try to worry about other people. Other than that I think you are caught up!

Now if only I can remember to post on Random Wednesday I'll be doing great!
